Martinsville Academy started in a small building downtown on the square in 1999. As the need for gymnastics grew, Terri purchased the current building in 2002. The front of the building was a separate area that was rented to Gentry Martial Arts until 2007. When they moved out, the walls were taken down to utilize the entire space for gymnastics. A second spring floor was added to the front area along with a dance floor for future possibilities. Pits were dug and new equipment was purchased, and that moved the gym to a new level.

MAGS will provide safe and proper gymnastics instruction for all gymnasts as a way to build a physically healthy, confident, and self-assured child. Through the means of competitive gymnastics, gymnasts will learn many lifelong skills such as time management, goal setting, collaboration, a determined work ethic, etc.
